STURGEON
Sturgeon lands in garden
A seven inch Atlantic Sturgeon
was discovered lying on the back lawn of a house in Foxholes Lane, Normanton.
Peter Barritt, treasurer of Castleford and District Naturalists society, speculated
that the fish could have been dropped by a bird or come from a local fish farm.
There is a caviar fish farm being built at Calder Vale but the project manager
said the sturgeon had not come from there.
