Grimesthorpe
BURMESE PYTHON
Snake 'could attack children'
Charna Tomlinson enjoys playing with a snake called Tracey, which is said to be dangerous to infants and small animals and it has now gone missing somewhere in Sheffield. The three year old Burmese python escaped from her tank in the garage of a house in Wincobank Lane in Grimesthorpe on Sunday. The reptiles owner Paul Tomlinson says Tracey has not eaten for two weeks and was due for a feed over the weekend of her usual diet rabbits and rats. He says Tracey may attack cats and dogs or even small children.

Previous Escape:
"If she sees a cat or a dog, she will go for it, bite it and crush it," he told BBC News Online. "And if she comes across a child who has recently been stroking a pet she might go for them as well."

Tracey is now 11 feet long and weighs about four stone. Mr Tomlinson says he perchaced Tracey and three other similar snakes as an interest for his three children, nine-year-old Charna, Ryan, 10, and Andrew, 14. Apparently Tracey escaped in similar fashion last year by slipping through the glass walls of her tank. That time she was away for three days and was found in the garden of a nearby house keeping a hungry eye on the local moggies.
