Morecambe
MONITOR LIZARD

A Monitor Lizard is on the loose in Morecambe, Lancashire RSPCA officers have advised the public to avoid the Lizard as could be aggressive and bite.

It went missing over a week ago and would survive for a long time in the warm weather. Kevin Hegarty an RSPCA spokesperson said "They can be aggressive. Our advice to people is don't touch it."

Also Jo Marsden owner of the nearby Lakeland Wildlife Oasis in Milnthorpe, said: "I would expect it could give a painful but not serious bite. A child picking one up will get quite a nasty bite.

If you come across the Lizard then please can you contact the RSPCA or a local veterinary practise as soon as possible for the safety of the public and the lizard.

Parton, Whitehaven
MYSTERY

Mystery Creature found on beach.
A professional cameraman form Chorley was walking his dog, with his wife, when he came upon a creature. He found the creature in a secluded cove, lying on the rocks. It was badly decomposed. At first, he thought it was a porpoise, then on closer inspection he saw a long beak and thought it was definitely a mammal. Scott Davidson, who is displays manager at the Aquarium of the lakes in Lakeside, the Lake District disagrees. He was pretty certain that the creature was a 10 - arm cephalopod mollusc. The marine expert thought it was a pretty big squid whose tentacles had rotted away.
