PEACH-FACED LOVEBIRDS
Peach-faced lovebirds have been spotted with young in Dunbar, East Lothian,
Scotland.
The green-feathered parrots from East Africa are believed to be escaped pets,
which, thanks to a plentiful supply of food, have managed to survive, even through
winter. It is believed that the parrots have been living there since 2001, but
it now looks as if they may actually be breeding too, after a Dutch birdwatcher
spotted the parrots with young.
There have been many reports of, what is understood to be at least five of the bright-green birds in the area. Experts are monitoring the situation.
