EAGLE OWL
Bobu, a European Eagle Owl which went missing 14 months ago, has been reunited
with his owner.
The huge owl was weak and hungry when he was found at Nilig Farm, Cyffilliog,
near Ruthin. The bird was taken to the Penbryn Open Farm in Llanfihangel
Owner Andrew Davies of Glanrafon, near Pwllheli was alerted by a friend who read a newspaper report about the captured owl, and travelled to Penbryn to collect Bobu.
Mr Davies thought he would never see his owl again. He said, “I assumed someone had stolen him, because the closed ring on his leg had been cut off.” He investigated various reports of sightings over the months, but the birds seen were mainly tawny owls.
