Stranded whale
What was thought to be a dolphin
stranded on Ynys Lochtyn beach in Llangrannog spotted by a member of the
public turned out to be a 15ft Sowerby’s beaked whale witch is rarely
seen.
The whale was kept wet by being sprayed with water . It is the second whale to be washed on the welsh coast in four days.
The whale was treated for several hours by a beached whale expert and RSPCA officers , floatation equipment was used to get the whale back out to see after it had been cared for.
Judith Haw RSPCA spokeswoman said "There's a possibility it's been there some time so that not good news for the animal.

A giant fin whale was also washed up in Newport South Wales:
It’s body was 60ft long and weighed 30 tonnes it had to be removed from the mudflats near Newport after it had been washed up, it was cut up so that it could be disposed of by means of incineration. It was taken to St Brides West Usk to be incinerated.
